Learn more about out MBN 2010 President Elect Nominees

Jan Johnson

I am very honored to be nominated as one of the candidates for president elect for 2011.

My husband Randy and I moved to Missoula in 2007 from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho where I had resided most of my life. The first meeting of MBN that I attended was all it took to get me hooked.

I have been employed by the US government for 28 years – 27 of those with the Forest Service.  I am currently in a virtual position in the Information Technology field as an Asset Management Specialist.  I  keep track of the IT assets that the Forest Service maintains.  I served as a Resource Unit Leader on an Incident Management Team for 11 years.  This enabled me to see many parts of the country that I would never have known existed.  How many of you know where Polaris, Montana is?  it’s in the Grasshopper Valley of course!  Being a part of this team has made me feel that everyone can make a difference when it comes to disastrous events or wildfires.

I am also an Independent Sales and Leadership Representative with Avon.  I enjoy building relationships with my customers and helping others start their own successful business .

I am looking forward to learning everything I can about MBN and what the membership would like to see in 2012.  The opportunity to spend a year as president elect will be exciting and so much fun working closely with Christine, Deirdre, other past president’s and all of you members of this fantastic network.

Thank you all for this extraordinary experience.
  Connie Slagle

I moved to Missoula 24 years ago with my husband and family from North Dakota. In North Dakota we owned and operated a Restaurant, Bar and Motel. My expertise today stems from marketing that business, managing employees and ordering supplies on every level. This experience also provided me with the knowledge I needed for my next position in Missoula. I worked for an orthodontist for 22 years, marketing and organizing the office. Working with patients and parents was very rewarding as it was challenging. Four years ago the doctor died in a car accident and again I had to re-invent myself and so I did what came natural, I became a Professional Organizer. I help people remove clutter from their environment create and teach a new organizational system they can maintain. I help seniors downsize and create a senior friendly and safe environment.Organization begins at home and flows into the work space. It can lessen stress and give us a more free feeling space to work and play. I belong to the National Organization of Professional Organizers and am credited in Feng Shui by the American Institute of Feng Shui. -   Connie Slagle

Currently she is the MBN Social Director /& Special Events Coordinator.  In the past she was the Chairperson for the Business Skills subnetwork.  When asked if she would accept the nomination to run for MBN President Elect Connie said that she was humbled and thrilled to accept the nomination.
